as Sammy Davis Junior “That was the BEST singing impersonation of me that I have ever heard!” David credits his parents for giving him an upbeat, positive attitude. As entertainer, he performs hotel/casinos, theaters, cruise lines and corporate events. Some notable shows were “American Superstars” (Laughlin), “Escape with David Hayes”, “Work that Skirt” (Reno), “Serendipity” (Las Vegas), “Deja-Vu” (Lake Tahoe), “Frank, Dean & Sammy inConcert” (The Supper Club New York) and “The Rat Pack at the Trop” (Atlantic City). He earned the title, “Best Performer in a Production Show” four years in a row followed by “Best Act” (Fun & Gaming Magazine). David is a gifted drummer, pianist, guitarist/banjo player, tap dancer, impressionist, song writer… His acting skills were displayed in a one-man tribute to Sammy in the Bay area. James Sullivan of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote: “Like his idol, Hayes ‘did it all’ in his 90-minute tribute.” David performed the West End London and European theater tours (Denmark, Germany) and is currently on USA tour with “The Rat Pack Live fromLas Vegas”. He made a cameo appearance in the movie “Kingpin” and freelances as acting coach at a private performing arts school. An accomplished comedian and emcee, he has opened for The Temptations, The Four Tops, K.C. & The Sunshine Band, Herbie Hancock, Tower of Power, and Florence Henderson. He works the comedy circuit including the Improv and rooms in L.A. and Vegas. He’s a resident host of the Sands Reno’s newest comedy club, The Funny Bone. David as visual artist… his creations have earned: an exhibit at Caesars Palace Las Vegas’ Galleria di Sorrento; a grant fromThe Sierra Arts Foundation for UPtown DOWNtown ARTown (RoadArt); a showing in the Flamingo Hilton Reno’s showroom foyer (Jazz Series); purchased art pieces being displayed in popular Northern-Nevada restaurants; hostings of sculpture at places such as the DMV, The National Automobile Museum, and now a local college. Business owner David Hayes produces special events with co-owner wife Karen and two children. He resides in “The Biggest Little City” in the foothills of Reno minutes from beautiful north Lake Tahoe. |
